Latest Miami Heat injury updates

Giannis Antetokounmpo: Antetokounmpo's absence wasn't due to restrictions from Miami, as Greece's federation indicated the decision was made as part of his preparation for the upcoming season. The 31-year-old will begin a new chapter with the Heat after being acquired from Milwaukee in a blockbuster trade this offseason.

Bam Adebayo: While Adebayo may sacrifice some scoring volume, Antetokounmpo's ability to collapse defenses should create more efficient scoring opportunities, and the duo projects to form one of the league's premier defensive frontcourts. Adebayo nursed a back issue to end the 2025-26 season, but he should be a full go for training camp.

Trevor Keels: Keels missed Miami's Summer League finale, marking a third consecutive game on the inactive list due to right knee soreness. Over two Las Vegas Summer League appearances, he averaged 23.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 27.2 minutes per showing.

Ryan Conwell: The Heat are erring on the side of caution while the rookie second-rounder tends to a hip injury. Conwell has plenty of time to heal up ahead of training camp in the fall, when he'll likely be competing with Dru Smith for the backup point guard role behind Davion Mitchell for 2026-27.

Myron Gardner: Gardner's Summer League is over because of an ankle sprain he suffered in Friday's California Classic opener in San Francisco against the Spurs. The swingman is missing out on valuable reps as he competes for a rotation spot with the Heat, but he does have plenty of time to recuperate for training camp in the fall.

How this affects the lineup

The current starting five and rotation are on the Miami Heat depth chart; every squad member is on the roster.
